I would hardly call the slight move above the channel line a breakout. Fact is , the four year price chart on copper is in a down trend. Inventories on the LME are rising and are currently at 1 year highs. Copper is a SELL.
Everything can be a buy or a sell at almost any time, depending on your time frame and strategy. I doubt Gary is planning to hold copper for a year. He is usually trying to play a bounce out of a cycle low, which usually lasts a couple weeks or something like that. I bet that is what this trade is about. He may buy this bounce, sell it in 2 weeks, and make money. You may sell this bounce, cover it in 5 weeks, and make money. That’s trading.
